Hadi Music | Artist of the Month (April 2020) – Exclusive Interview!

Help Spread the Word!

Hadi Music – The music business is competitive and challenging in so many ways and it is getting harder and harder to stand out and get noticed. However, one artist that keeps releasing great song after great song is Hadi Music. He is consistently building a loyal following by doing what he loves. Being creative and creating music. He is an incredibly gifted young man who is passionate about his craft and we are proud to name him as our “Artist of the Month” for April 2020.

We are grateful that he took the time to answer a few questions so that we could get to know him better.

NEM: I guess the first and obvious question is how are you holding up during this crazy worldwide lock-down? You are home in Dubai correct? How have you been spending your time?

Hadi: First of all, thank you for having me. I’ve been doing alright with the lock-down, it hasn’t been without it’s difficult days particularly on the mental health front but my motto in general is to work with what I can see clearly in the moment and to stay present. I know that the level of difficulty varies for different people and I send out a bunch of happy waves to everyone out there.

I think that there’s comfort in knowing that everyone’s sort of trying to navigate these times and that it’s not just up to one individual to “get it right”, as morbid as that sounds. Compassion towards ourselves and towards others as well is super important right now.

I’ve been spending my time at home in Dubai just creating music and writing for the year. I almost feel like this is a “timeout” somehow, so musically I’m experimenting with different things and sounds. I also spend a lot of time streaming and connecting with people. It’s cathartic.

NEM: We love your new song “All the Lights,” can you tell us a little bit about how the song came about? It is such a positive song and is perfect for the dark times we are all going through. I know it spoke to me personally in a powerful way.

Watch “All the Lights”

All The Lights Lyrics

Tear off your covers
Thick skin and borders
Show me all your colors

Won’t you let me know?
Your feelings expose, yea
Show me all your colors

I promise all the cold will go

once you let me in

All the lights have come
To lift your darkness up
And if you’re feeling lost
It’s okay

When the nights feel long
All you have to do is call
And leave your door unlocked
I’ll come right up to you

Put down your bottle
It dims down your glow, yea
And fades out your colors

I promise all the cold will go once you let me in
And I’ll never let you feel alone
It’s not gonna happen

All the lights have come
To lift your darkness up
And if you’re feeling lost
It’s okay

When the nights feel long
All you have to do is call
And leave your door unlocked
I’ll come right up to you

Hadi: Thank you very much! “All The Lights” started to come together in early March. To me, it feels sorta like a song that can be your friend in need. I’ve had moments in life where songs were really there for me, and I talk about that in the making of video.

I think where I’d listen to a song on loop because it’s transmitting a certain comforting quality. I think “All The Lights” arrived to me with that sort of feeling, and I’m glad that it’s resonating with people in this way.

At the core of it, I think it’s a song about reaching out and asking someone to let you in, and reassuring them that everything that is positive has come and made itself available to elevate them to a happier place.

NEM: Thanks for sharing the writing and thinking process behind “All the Lights.” We really appreciate how open and transparent you were in the “How I Wrote ‘All the Lights'” video. What was that sharing process like for you and is it something you think you will do again?

Hadi sharing the creative process behind “All the Lights”

Hadi: I’ve been wanting to create these sorts of “short films” for a very long time. Besides the fact that I love filmmaking, I spend almost all of my time watching people create art, music, behind the scenes from movie sets, etc. It really gets me inspired and I feel like it’s a “pay it forward” sort of thing. When I was just getting started in music, those videos really motivated me and got me so inspired about storytelling through music and just following this life purpose.

If I can offer that same sort of inspiration forward to up-and-coming artists or anyone who is seeking something to get an idea started, it’ll be the coolest thing and it would mean a lot to me. I’m still that little 14 year old kid who just picked up his guitar looking at other artists and creators with dreamy eyes haha. I feel like being able to create and to share not only the end product but also the process is something very special. Also, it gives me something else to work on and I’m a workaholic haha.

NEM: What are you currently listening to? Any favorite artists or songs?

Hadi: I’ve been listening to Twenty One Pilots, Tame Impala (who shamefully I’ve only started listening to properly a few days ago after a few fans pointed me towards their most recent album during one of my live streams), Bring me the Horizon, and The Chainsmokers.

The fun part is I don’t ever think I’ll quite get it perfect, so the chase is quite cool!

NEM: What’s next for you both short term and over the next year or so? Any new releases on the radar you can tell us a little about?

Hadi: I’m working on a batch of songs to roll out over the coming few months, I’m always experimenting with new sounds and I’ve gone back to writing with my guitar in hand lately so there’s a lot of shimmery clean guitars in my current ideas.

I’m kinda studying writing songs that can both be tender but also quite impactful/powerful in the drops/choruses. The fun part is I don’t ever think I’ll quite get it perfect, so the chase is quite cool!

I try not to plan too far ahead and just sort of flow with what I’m working with and opportunities that come about.

NEM: Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us. Is there anything you would like to say to all those who have supported you through your journey?

Hadi: Thank you guys once again for having me and for featuring my songs. I wanna send out a big shoutout to all my fans and supporters out there, wherever you are.

And a big wave of love to my Inner Circle (fan club) members. Saying that sounds weird and somewhat egoist, but I’m super grateful for all that they do to support me along the way. I hope to see you all very soon at one of my shows in your city.

Your Ghost

Another one of our favorite Hadi music is “Your Ghost”. This song is hauntingly beautiful and is one of those songs that draws the listener in and keeps you hanging on every word. It showcases his voice and shows why he is someone we believe will go far in the near future. Therefore, give it a view now and see for yourself!

Louder is Hadi’s biggest song on Spotify and we really love the message. “Can’t stop the voices in our heads, but we can be louder. Can’t stop doubts from creepin in, but we can be stronger.” This is a powerful message that is also very practical. Someone once said, “stop listening to yourself and start talking to yourself.” It is the same idea, when the negative self talk begins, replace it with something positive and true. Listen to this awesome song now and let us know what you think.
