Completing the tracks for the EP is Our Song. It perfectly captures the sadness of longing and wanting to relive the moment with someone. This ballad shows the gentler, more acoustic side of the band. The Winters music never fails to give us melancholic and beat-driven songs from their debut EP, This Full-grown Nightmare.

Our Song Lyrics
Our song’s drowned out by all this noise.
And it’s hard to see what’s been destroyed.
What seemed so bold now seems so blurred.
And I long to hear that song we heard.
Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh

Along the road our love went cold.
That’s not so unusual I’ve been told.
Yes we want to make this work.
But we’ve fallen apart and we’ve both been burnt.
We used to sing:
Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
We can’t give up we can’t get lost.
We’ve come too far to fall to dust.
Please come back, we’ll make this work.
If we both sing that song we heard.
Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh

Just One Day is a synthier track that talks about a relationship with a loved one slipping through your fingers. Despite the sad lyrics, there is the consolation of acceptance of the reality that both have to go separate ways with the line “And you’ve been smiling but we both know it’s time you went home”.
The line, “Then I’ll be happy knowing you were mine even just for a day” reflects closure and being grateful for the memories shared with that special person.
Great melodies seem to be the trademark of this band. Dream of Me is just as moving as the rest of the tracks in this EP. Yet, this rock ballad puts out a more positive feeling. It conveys a sense of longing but with the hope that tomorrow brings better days. This music is meant to be played on loop. Can’t expect less from this really awesome band!

We’re Still Kids has a faster tempo than the rest of the tracks in the EP. This has the fun ‘grown-up expectations’ theme. Grown-up expectations always turn out the opposite- when kids think it would all be easier and everything to be in their control. The track is about the struggles of keeping up with the realities of everyday life. The EP title This Full-grown Nightmare is a line taken from the lyrics of this song.
